Health refutes the enemy army’s claims of using ambulances for military purposes: “Justification for its crimes against humanity”
Fady Mahouly
The Information Office of the Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement:
Since the beginning of its aggression against Lebanon, the Israeli enemy has been targeting emergency crews while performing their rescue missions on the lines of fire, until the crime reached the point of targeting the primary health care center in the town of Burj Qalwiyah, which is part of the network of centers spread throughout various Lebanese regions that work in coordination with civil associations under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health, which makes the attack an unequivocal targeting of a Lebanese civilian health facility.
The entire staff working at the center, including doctors, paramedics, and nurses, was targeted. Only one health worker survived and was seriously injured, while 12 others were martyred, and the search is still continuing for 4 missing people.
The total toll of paramedic martyrs since March 2 until today, amounting to 26 martyrs and 51 wounded, constitutes the clearest evidence of the enemy’s violent practices, which constitute an ongoing series since the previous round of war. It is a series that is more violent and comprehensive by expanding the scope of its targeting to include the Lebanese Red Cross for the first time since October 2023.
Therefore, the enemy army’s claim that ambulances are used for military purposes is nothing but a justification for the crimes committed by this army against humanity, ignoring all international and humanitarian laws and the Geneva Conventions, which stipulate “the necessity of protecting and respecting medical personnel who are charged with searching for and treating the wounded and sick,” as well as “protecting medical units and facilities and not targeting them.”
